This day-in-the-life post is something I wish I had done periodically when Henry was younger because schedules can change a lot from month to month when they’re babies. I can’t call this a “normal” day since Henry slept in 2-3 hours later than normal, his nap was longer than usual, and Brady was home over an hour earlier than average. With that being said, it still follows the general flow of a typical day with my 15-month-old.

5:45-6:20 Henry wakes up to feed while Brady is getting ready for work.
7:45-8:15 Feed Henry and browse social media on my phone to wake up.
8:45-9:15 I got up at 8:15 and Henry was still fully out. I fluffed about for a few minutes and decided it was a yoga kind of morning. After doing a short flexibility session, I got ready for the day.
9:20 Henry was still in a deep sleep but it was time to get up. He didn’t get to sleep until around 10 pm the night before because he took a late nap on the way home from a birthday party. If I let him sleep in too much longer, naptime and bedtime would take an extra day to get back to normal.
9:45 Henry and I had pasta leftovers for breakfast.
10ish-10:30 Henry loves to read. We read a lot throughout the day so I only included stretches where we spent a long time just reading.
10:30-11:30 Henry does independent play in the office/playroom while I work on the computer.
11:45-12:15 I had a big fall out with my back last week and I had been struggling all morning. To help ease the tension in my back, we went on a 15-minute walk, and then Henry ran around in the yard for an extra 15 minutes before going inside for a nap.
12:20-12:55 It took about 35 minutes to get him down for his nap. It took longer than usual to get him down for a nap since he hadn’t been awake his typical 4-5 hours yet. While he napped I played a quick game on my computer and then spent some time doing more work.
Lately, Henry has only been napping for 30-45 minutes but today he slept for 80 minutes which was a nice surprise.
2:15-2:35 Henry often wakes up frustrated and fussy from his nap, I assume it’s because he wants to be sleeping longer. It usually takes 10 minutes of reading time to settle him down to his normal self again.
2:40-3:00 We finished up pasta leftovers for lunch.
3-4 Henry did some semi-independent play that was interspersed with me reading some books to him.
4-5 We try to go on an outing every day to get out of the house but our trips are usually somewhere in the car versus around the neighborhood. I wanted to get to the park though because we haven’t been going as often now that the temperatures are chilly. Henry only got to play for 15 minutes since we still had to walk home before sunset. He had so much fun and there were a few tears when it was time to go.
5:00 Brady was home just after 5 which was extra nice since he typically doesn’t get home until 6:30. We usually have a snack at this point in time since dinner is often later.
5:30 We need groceries so we had some Great Harvest Bread, Indian lentils with rice, salad, and cheesecake. Henry loves lentils and rice.
6:00 Dinner clean up, playtime/family time, and I start a hair mask since I’ve been struggling with my hair since Henry was born.
7:20 I take a shower and Brady gets Henry ready for bed.
7:50 It takes 40 minutes of both of us trying to convince him to fall asleep.
8:30-9:45 Brady and I spend some time on our computers.
10:30 Bedtime chat and sleep.
I hope you enjoyed getting a peek into a day in my life with a 15-month-old! Let me know what your daily routine with a toddler is like in the comments!
