This week has been flying by faster than the last though I am still dealing with a cold. I had a few days where it was pretty light and I wasn’t feeling very much, but today has been a bit rougher with more congestion and it feels like I’m growing a tree in my throat. Some salt gargles, hot tea, and eucalyptus steam sessions are helping me through and unless this gets drastically worse, this has been a very light cold and I’m very thankful for that.
Maryland and much of the northeast was hit by winter storm Stella on Monday-Tuesday this week and prematurely killed all of spring *heartbreak*. Over the weekend they had been predicting up to 14 inches of snow for our area but that was lowered since we got a blend of snow and freezing rain, the accumulation is really only about 4 inches. I went out for 2 different winter walks to enjoy what we had since this is the only real snowfall we’ve had all winter long.
I only just noticed that I was carrying a twig on my left shoulder — Ha!
I’m not happy about the timing of the snow but I suppose it was nice to have at least one snowfall this year.
—Quick PSA for future reference. When you clean your car off after a snowfall, remove the snow off of your entire car including the roof. Now this may seem like common sense to most, but there are a lot of people who don’t do it. Well you can take this as a cautionary tale if you don’t typically remove snow from your roof. Whenever I clean the car, I do remove it from the roof because I hate how it looks and I really don’t feel like getting a ticket if a cop thinks I’m posing a danger to other drivers… well whatever the reason, yesterday morning I left with a couple inches of snow on my rooftop and when I left in a hurry, I didn’t think to remove it. When I was left to come home, I didn’t think to remove it then either. About a mile away from the school, the whole sheet of snow and ice fell forward over my windshield and I could not see one thing. Luckily the situation ended without any harm to anyone other than giving me a scare that took a few minutes to recover from but it could have been a pretty bad situation.—
Since Friday is my birthday and we’ll be celebrating with my family, Brady and I went out for dinner last night to celebrate at the Cheesecake Factory since it is one of my favorite special occasion restaurants. I ordered 2 of my faves for dinner — the Avocado Eggrolls (a MUST) and the veggie burger with a side salad. Everything was perfect and yum yum yum. I love the veggie burgers here because they make them with grains instead of black beans. I’m not a bean burger fan so this really hits the spot. I almost feel like the real winner here was the side salad which is crazy because all it was was a bowl of fancy greens with a house made balsamic vinaigrette. But, wow, my taste buds were mind blown. I didn’t grab a picture because it was in my stomach before I could even think of it.
Since our Disney vacation is quickly approaching, I’m kind of going overboard with my love of all things Disney. We stopped by the Disney Store on our wander around the mall the mall last night and I’m loving the new design of the princess dresses especially Rapunzel and Cinderella’s. I’m even more excited because we booked our hotel for our vacation last night! All that’s left to do is pack our bags and food and get going!
Tomorrow is my birthday (and St. Patrick’s day) plus my sister is coming home so I’m really looking forward to this weekend! Come back tomorrow for my 25th birthday year bucket list!
Who else has a March birthday? Anyone else having a birthday tomorrow??
